Volkswagen Beetle Herbie style in for a makeover

Volkswagen Beetle Herbie style in for a makeover

In the workshop at Bill Rawles Classic Cars we carry out a lot of servicing, maintenance, restoration, recreations and one off special work as requested. We have the skills and ability to carry out a multitude of tasks in house and know where to outsource when it necessitates. Having been in business now for over 30 years, Bill Rawles is well known and highly regarded in his field and a lot of our work is repeat business and word of mouth as his reputation precedes him. Therefore we see a variety of work and a range of vehicles coming through the workshop. We regularly update our Bill Rawles Classic Car Facebook Page and one particular album that seems to be popular is our What’s in the Workshop today?? Which covers a multitude of our activities – so why not give it a look? We currently have a Volkswagen Beetle in a Herbie design undergoing a makeover. Herbie was a 1963 Volkswagen Beetle which featured in several Disney films, notably the 1968 feature film The Love Bug. Herbie is distinguished by red, white and blue racing stripes which run from the front to the back bumper, with racing style number 53 stickers on the front luggage compartment lid, doors and engine lid.

We also carry out a number of repairs through insurance claims. Over the years we have become familiar with the insurance claim system and the necessary procedure. When you have had an accident in your classic car we know the stress and upset that this can cause and we can help with any insurance related works from providing an estimate, liaising with the engineer, the insurance company, carrying out the approved insurance repairs and submitting the claim. At present we have an Austin Healey 3000 MK III in for crash repairs, through an insurance claim, after colliding with another vehicle in a busy town centre.
