Isle of Wight Weekend 2015
31st October 2015 / 10.00am / Isle of Wight
The Austin Healey Club Bristol Centre Isle of Wight Weekend 2015
Friday 30th October 2015 to Sunday 01st November 2015
This weekend is one of the longest running events in the Healey Club Calendar. It was first held in 1963 and John Chatham was a part of it then as he is today. Its success has been put down to the minimum requirements for attendance. It is described as being open to anyone who likes to laugh and enjoy themselves. It is simply not open to dullards, complainers and whingers or to those who may expect a champagne weekend for beer money. We will be going along this year. When we looked back through our archives we coul dnot believe that the last time we attended was 1997. We made that short sea crossing over to the Island with a small family in tow. Ollie was 8, Charlie 7 and Jack was just 6 weeks old. Despite the stresses and strains of 3 young boys we did manage to laugh and enjoy ourselves and we barely had enough for the beer money.
The venue for the weekend is The Freshwater Bay Hotel and we are very much looking forward to meeting up with Healey friends old and new and having a bit of fun.
Combined with The Isle of Wight Car Club the Healey Club joins in an auto test which takes place on the Saturday and Sunday mornings at various venues around the island. The format is very much taken as “run what you brung” basis and Healeys are welcome and have a class/es of their own. If you are interested in joining this jolly please drop an email to Joe Cox, The UK Austin Healey Club, Vice President – joe.cox@healeyracing.co.uk
