Built on the 10th of September 1954, this original RHD Austin-Healey 100 BN1 was dispatched to Sydney, Australia.
Seen today exactly as the car left the factory, ice blue with blue interior, the car presents very well and has been repainted within the past decade to a good standard. The car was repatriated to the UK in 2013 and has been frequently enjoyed in the Derbyshire dales during current ownership. An early ‘Austin of England’ BN1 with no reflector pods on the rear, just as the car was designed, it gives the back of the car the cleanest look of all Healey models.
This Healey benefits from the fitment of an aluminium radiator, Motolita steering wheel and a smart set of chrome wire wheels. The interior is very original and whist the engine bay is presentable, both the interior and engine bay could be improved if you were wanting to bring this Healey up a level. Whilst this does not detract from the overall vehicle, if you wanted to leave it as it is, this is possibly the perfect winter project for those who are a wanting to get hands on…?
The car drives very well, the engine pulls well with good oil pressure at 45-50 psi and the car tracks and drives just as you would expect. This car still has the original 3 speed gearbox with overdrive which is full of character. The Healey 100 really is a perfect country lane car and features the iconic folding windscreen.
