Austin-Healey 3000 MKIII UK RHD

First registered in September 1965, this Austin-Healey is a genuine UK RHD example finished in red over white. With over 90% of Healey’s heading to the United States, this is a sought-after UK car.

The vehicle comes with a comprehensive history file dating back to the 1980’s. As you see the car today, it is in very good condition and ready to be enjoyed. This car was restored in the late 1980’s by marque specialist, Orchard Restorations and a selection of photos and correspondence is included in the history file. A credit to the quality of the restoration as the car still looks just as good today. It should not be of concern that the car was restored nearly 40 years ago as the car has been in regular use and there are many receipts for maintenance work including work from ourselves in 2019 and further maintenance from local garages until 2022.

On the road the car is tight and direct, the engine pulls well and gearbox/overdrive operates as you would expect. Wheels and tyres are in good condition and the interior is tidy too but there is some cracking to the veneer on the dashboard. The hood fits well and windows operate nicely. This would make for an excellent car for someone, and it is ready to use straight away.

Still, if you are looking to improve the car, there are a few areas where this is possible. The engine bay is tidy but the engine itself would benefit from a repaint as this would lift the engine bay considerably and, in the interior, the wood veneer would benefit from replacement but these are my only comments for improvement and is purely superficial but may be of interest to someone who would be looking to improve the car and potentially its value.
