Austin Healey 3000 MK I BN7 Full Restoration – Nearing Completion
Austin Healey 3000 MK I BN7 – This is a complete restoration, to the customer specification. The inspiration for this restoration stemmed back from the 1960s when our customer was just 19 years old and now he has decided that he would like to recharge his teenage passion and own an Austin Healey once again. It was started back in July 2012 when a donor car was located, imported from the States and ready for collection from Yorkshire, on a very wet, windy, grey July summers day. It was obvious from the limited amount of paintwork still visible on the rusty bodywork that during its time in America this car had raced and was part of The Sports Car Club of America.
It is now nearing completion and hopefully will be back on our English roads this summer. All our restoration work has a complete detailed photographic record, a comprehensive parts list and a daily written description of all works carried out. To see all the photos of this restoration from day one to present please take a look at our two photo albums on our Bill Rawles Classic Cars Facebook Page. Part 1 of the work can be found by following this link to see the early days of the restoration and Part 2 of works carried out cab be found by following this link the restoration is starting to take shape. Please pop back to read our further blogs as the car gets ready for collection.
