Finally the end of the season was marked by The Ginetta Awards Dinner which was held at The Ginetta Factory in Leeds, on Saturday 14th December 2013. The well attended event was sponsored by Skycig.  A chance for drivers, teams and families to get dressed up, be together, reminisce a little and sigh a huge sigh of relief that the racing is over for another year. We had a brilliant evening and can definitely say it was a memorable and fantastic way to end the season. The evening started with Lawrence Tomlinson providing a tour of the factory, followed by a champagne and  canapé reception and then a chance to have some group and individual photos taken by motorsport photographer Jakob Ebrey.

The seating plan was well executed, sharing the dining part of the evening with Will

Palmer, who finished the 2013 Junior Ginetta Championship in third place, his father Jonathan Palmer, founder and CEO of Motorsport Vision and  Palmer Sport, the Ginetta Junior Ireland Challenge 2013 Champion Dylan Curley and his father, Charlie Rawles and Tom Smith who tirelessly supported Jack, Harriet Rhodes, Jack Rawles and of course his parents. The three course meal was good, the drinks flowed and inevitably after the awards ceremony and prize giving the dancing went on until carriages at midnight. The music was provided by Alistair Griffin, maybe best known for the track Just Drive as used by Ginetta in their 2013 Season Finale Clip. The compilation of the season was screened around the marquee, with Alistair and the band playing along live, before the silverware was handed out, with rounds of applause, laughter and cheers.

The highlight of our evening must have been when totally out of the blue and as a complete surprise Jack Rawles won The Spirit of The Championship Award 2013 – A very proud moment for the entire Rawles Team. After midnight it was organised taxis into Leeds to conclude the night with a bit more dancing and drinking   at an after party in The Reform Bar, for some until 4am – Here are a few official and some unofficial photos of the night – Thanks to Jakob Ebrey Motorsport Photography for the official photos and thanks to Stephen Bishop, Suiting Specialist for making us look smart 🙂
