Austin-Healey 3000 BN7
Built on the 5-8 June 1959, this early Austin-Healey 3000 was finished in Healey blue over Ivory white and dispatched to Jacksonville, USA.
The rarer and desirable 2-seater, known as a BN7 is a sought-after model and the clean lines and enclosed cockpit is arguably the prettiest Healey produced. The BN7 was the chosen model for the works rally cars, position of the spare wheel over the axle provides an unrivalled boot space, compared to other Healeys.
In current ownership since 1999, this Healey has been enjoyed sparingly but always well maintained as the owner found general upkeep of the car one of his main hobbies. Since 1999 the car has completed just 6,500 miles but has been kept in great order, driving around 45 miles to get to us, the car is reliable and ready to be used.
The history file is light but contains all the key information with BMIHT heritage certificate and V5C logbook document as well as some history and receipts dating back to 1998.
On the road, the car is great, it drives very well with good torquey engine, smooth gearbox and handling is nice and the good maintenance and light use means the car feels tight and well planted. Improvements could be made in my opinion to the overall appearance by fitting some larger wheels and taller profile tyres, this will fill the arches better and completely change the aesthetic of the car. Minor things to note, the car has a 100/6 bonnet fitted with a ridge though the middle and the wing flashes are incorrectly fitted the wrong way around, a common mistake which could be rectified.
Overall, a great car, ready to go in desirable colour, model and specification.
