240 CWD, retaining its original number plate was built and dispatched in 1962, this MKII Tri-Carb is one of only 261 BT7 MKIIs produced for the UK market from a total build run of 5,096. This specific car has a destination on the heritage certificate as ‘display car for Austin factory, Longbridge, Birmingham UK.’ The likes of Leonard Lord and Donald Healey would have walked past 240 CWD every day while it was on display as the ‘new’ 3000.

In single ownership from 1969 to 2018, the car was then bought by the current owner for personal use. As a ‘modern car’ garage owner he had all the tools and equipment necessary and set about a complete and painstaking restoration over the course of many evenings and weekends.
