Austin-Healey 3000 MKIII
Built in early September 1964 and dispatched to the US later that month, the car was delivered to Nuffield exports ltd. The car was repatriated to the UK before a complete rebuild, completed around 5 years ago this included a full restoration and more recently a RHD conversion.
The car was imported back into the UK and treated to a full bare metal body restoration starting in early 2013, including conversion to RHD (using all-new parts including walnut dashboard, adjustable steering rack, Moto-Lita steering wheel and so on), rebuilt gearbox and overdrive, sports exhaust, a complete new interior, mohair hood, hood cover and tonneau, chrome wire wheels and tyres, new brightwork, brakes and so on. Originally Ivory White, with a red interior, the car was resprayed in classic Healey Ice Blue over Ivory White and completed with a striking blue interior.
After completion of the restoration the car was registered in the UK in November 2015. Documentation includes yearly MOTs since 2016 with no advisories, a folder of photos of the restoration and invoices for parts and restoration work.
The car was awarded the ‘Best Car In Show’ award at a recent Classic Vehicle Restoration Show and ‘Best Engine Bay’ at the Bristol Classic Car Show.
It’s a lovely car to drive and in excellent condition, ready to drive away and be enjoyed.
